科学辩论团体邀请赛 Shanghai Science Debate Competition

比赛对英语水平没有硬性要求，但作为全英文辩论比赛，参赛者应具备基本的英语听说读写能力。所有辩论和发言必须使用英语，且所有证据必须为有出处的科学依据。在评分标准中，表达流畅度与语言流利度占10分（总分100分）。

There are no strict English proficiency requirements, but as an all-English debate competition, participants should have basic English listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. All debates and speeches must be conducted in English, and all evidence must be scientifically-based with proper citation. In the scoring criteria, fluency of expression and language proficiency accounts for 10 points (out of 100 total points).

我们为参赛选手准备了4场工作坊（规则与角色、举证责任与胜负判定、构建论点、如何反驳）和6场模拟辩论。建议参赛队伍积极参与这些培训活动，同时广泛阅读科学资料，了解科学热点话题，练习英语辩论技巧。预选赛前，队伍需准备5个独立视频，每位队员负责一个环节，请参考"预选赛视频要求"部分了解具体规定。

We have prepared 4 workshops (Rules and Roles, Burden of Proof and Adjudication, Building Arguments, How to Rebut) and 6 mock debates for participants. We recommend teams actively participate in these training activities, extensively read scientific materials, learn about scientific hot topics, and practice English debating skills. Before the preliminary round, teams need to prepare 5 separate videos, with each team member responsible for one segment. Please refer to the "Preliminary Round Video Requirements" section for specific guidelines.

预选赛采用视频评审方式，每个队伍需提交5个视频（正方立论、反方提问、正方回答、反方反驳、正方总结）。评委将根据评判标准（准备20分、心态10分、内容20分、组织20分、表达10分、互动20分，共100分）对视频进行评分。评委会将选出48支队伍进入晋级赛。根据参赛总数比例，未晋级的队伍也有机会获得"科普英语达人奖"、"科普英语创意奖"或"科普英语新星奖"等奖项。

The preliminary round uses video review as the evaluation method. Each team needs to submit 5 videos (affirmative case, negative questions, affirmative answers, negative rebuttals, and affirmative summary). Judges will score the videos based on evaluation criteria (preparation 20 points, attitude 10 points, content 20 points, organization 20 points, expression 10 points, interaction 20 points, totaling 100 points). The judging panel will select 48 teams to advance to the next round. Based on the proportion of total participants, teams that do not advance also have the opportunity to win awards such as "Science English Expert Award," "Science English Creativity Award," or "Science English Rising Star Award."

晋级赛和决赛采用SSDC辩论赛制，每轮辩论有两支参赛队（正、反方），每队3名辩手上场。单轮辩论时长约2小时，包括公布辩题（5分钟）、赛前准备（25分钟）、辩论（50分钟）、评委审议（10分钟）、评委反馈（15分钟）等环节。发言环节包括：一辩立论（各6分钟）、二辩反驳与补充（各6分钟）、三辩反驳与交锋分析（各6分钟）和总结陈词（各4分钟）。晋级赛将选出32支队伍进入决赛（初中组和高中组各16支）。

The semifinal and final rounds use the SSDC debate format, with two competing teams (affirmative and negative) in each round, and three debaters from each team participating. A single round of debate lasts approximately 2 hours, including announcement of the topic (5 minutes), preparation (25 minutes), debate (50 minutes), judges' deliberation (10 minutes), and judges' feedback (15 minutes). The speaking segments include: first speaker constructive speeches (6 minutes each), second speaker rebuttals and supplements (6 minutes each), third speaker rebuttals and clash analysis (6 minutes each), and summary speeches (4 minutes each). The semifinal round will select 32 teams to advance to the finals (16 teams each from middle school and high school divisions).

各参赛队的指导教师可申请担任SSDC辩论赛裁判。申请步骤：1）在7月1日-7月9日期间通过在线平台进行裁判注册；2）参加7月11日的初级培训；3）在7月11日-7月18日期间提交模拟评分表；4）通过资格审核后，参加7月24日的进阶培训；5）在晋级赛和决赛中担任裁判。组委会将为合格裁判颁发辩论赛裁判证书，并评选出"最佳裁判奖"。 Instructors from participating teams can apply to serve as SSDC debate judges. Application steps: 1) Register as a judge through the online platform between July 1-9; 2) Attend basic training on July 11; 3) Submit mock scoring sheets between July 11-18; 4) After passing qualification review, attend advanced training on July 24; 5) Serve as a judge in the semifinals and finals. The organizing committee will issue debate judge certificates to qualified judges and select the "Best Judge Award".
